Jacob Elordi is set to show off his dark side in the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro adaptation of Frankenstein.
In January 2024 it was announced Elordi would replace British actor Andrew Garfield in the role. Garfield had previously signed on to the project, but had to drop after delays incurred by strike actions resulted in a scheduling conflict.

The new adaptation of the 1818 Mary Shelley novel features an A-list cast, including Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight, Dune) and Mia Goth (Emma, Suspiria).
While we’ve certainly seen Elordi play some sinister figures, a turn in Frankenstein’s shoes could see heartthrob disappear completely – most likely with the help of a craft makeup and costume team.
Del Toro is known for his fantastical style, having previously helmed films like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Shape Of Water.

With both films earning the director a string of accolades, one has to wonder, will Frankenstein net Elordi his first Oscar? Following the 26-year-old actor’s turn in 2023’s Saltburn and Priscilla, surely the countdown is on for awards recognition.
Until then, everything we know about the upcoming Frankenstein flick.
Who Else Is In Frankenstein?
Oscar Isaac will take on the titular role of Dr Victor Frankenstein, while Jacob Elordi will play his creation, The Monster.
The two are joined on the cast by Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds), David Bradley (aka Filch from Harry Potter) and Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher).
