The Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales are a prime opportunity to inject some freshness into your wardrobe at a discount, ideally breathing new life into old clothes and accessories by pairing them with a few new pieces. This year, Black Friday falls on Friday, November 28, while Cyber Monday is Monday, December 1. If past years are anything to go by, sales are likely to start as early as a few weeks before and end a few weeks after. The best discounts, though, tend to always happen during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday four-day window.
The sales—and particularly the fashion discounts—are easy to get swept up in, so for weeks, we’ve been compiling our wishlists. Our plan, like always, is to shop strategically, buying only what we need and at the best possible price. We’re keen to support Australian designers, buying past-season pieces, as well as to try a fashion trend or two. Now’s also a great time to buy from a brand we might never have heard of, but that’s stocked on an e-tailer we love like The Iconic, Net-a-Porter, and Asos. Finally, we’re using this opportunity to stock up on outfit basics. White tees. Denim. Socks and undies.
Lucky for you, we’re sharing what’s on our wishlist—the pieces we have our eyes on. Plus, what brands are offering discounts. Here are the best Black Friday clothing sales, all in one spot.

Denim
Black Friday’s a great time to stock up on denim you’ll wear throughout the following year. Barrel-leg jeans. Slouchy. Black. Maybe you even want to try the controversial jeans comeback, skinny. With summer almost here, you probably also want to get a few pairs of denim shorts. Cut-offs for the weekend and Bermuda or a longer version for work.
Dresses
Now’s the time to get a few dresses to wear for summer, along with one or two more formal options for your next stint as a wedding or cocktail party guest. Some of the dresses on our Black Friday wishlist? Slip dresses, which are great for their versatility—you can dress them up or down. Dresses with even a slight sequin or sparkle that jazz up the everyday. And because we’re keen to try the trend, sheer.
Work Bags
If you work in an office, one of the most important fashion buys you’ll make all year is a tote. You might use it to carry a laptop, book or headphones for the commute, and workout wear for morning, lunch or evening exercise. If that’s the case, it needs to be big enough to accommodate. You also want it to be sturdy, easy to carry, and go with the rest of your outfit.
Sandals
Black Friday falls just before the official start of summer (December 1), which means the holiday and beach season—and time for getting your toes out—isn’t too far off. Right now, the sandal scene is buzzing with a few key trends: barely-there straps, chunky platforms, and the revival of the classic thong, thanks to style icons like Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and the Olsen twins putting them back in the spotlight.
Tees
Ask any woman what the hardest working item in her wardrobe is, and they’ll likely say a simple white tee. The longstanding staple may seem basic, but it’s endlessly versatile. That said, it can often be the hardest basic to find in its most perfect form. The thickness, length, shape and shade of white—all of that coming together in one tee can be tricky to get right. Black Friday’s the best time to try, though.
Sunglasses
Given their wearability, sunglasses rank among the most cost-per-wear-effective items in any wardrobe. They also allow for more experimentation than most essentials—making them an obvious entry point for engaging with trending shapes and seasonal shifts. And with many sunglasses discounted up to 70% on Black Friday, now’s when you should buy them. Some key trends we’re seeing this season are tinted lenses, sport-inspired and ’60s oversized.
Black Friday 2025 is on Friday November 28, with deals usually rolling through the weekend and into Cyber Monday on December 1st.
But there are often early Black Friday sales in the days or even weeks before the date. So it’s best to keep your sales radar up, wish-lists primed and check back here for updates on your favourite brands.
A LOT, with some brands offering up to 80% off items during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. This year, for example, we’ve seen offers of up to 80 per cent off with brands including Showpo, Petal & Pup, Wynn Hamlyn and The Dom.com, just to name a few.
With some Black Friday sales ending and some Cyber Monday sales starting, we’ll be updating these lists with deals you can shop now – as well as ended deals that can give you an idea of just how good Black Friday sales are (for next year).
Historically, Boxing Day has held the title as the biggest sale day of the year in Australia. But in recent years, the upsurge in Black Friday and Cyber Monday’s popularity has seen the traditionally American sales weekend surpass Boxing Day.
So for many retailers Black Friday is now the biggest sales event of the year. According to the Australian Retailers Association (ARA): “Black Friday, has reshaped retail dynamics in Australia. Marking a significant uptick in sales, it catalyses a surge in consumer spending, contributing to record-breaking retail turnovers.”
Analysis from the ARA in early 2024 also showed that Australians spent more in November than they did in December.
“The rising popularity of Black Friday also impacted December’s trading, with many Australians opting to purchase their Christmas gifts earlier during the major sales event in November,” said Paul Zahra, the ARA CEO at the time.
Given Black Friday sales fall before Christmas, a time when most people are typically spending beyond their usual habits, many brands have begun taking part with great deals.
